Use of Isobutyraldehyde

1. Isobutyraldehyde is mainly hydrogenated in the industry to produce isobutanol. Isobutanol can be used as a substitute for n-butanol in some respects. Isobutyraldehyde and formaldehyde are added to form hydroxytrimethylacetaldehyde, and then hydrogenated to form neopentyl glycol, which is used as a raw material for varnish, resin, fiber and lubricant; fertilizer produced by reaction of isobutyraldehyde with urea Nitrogen is slowly released; in addition, it is also used as an intermediate for drugs such as amino acids and vitamins. The oxo process produces n-butyraldehyde and isobutyraldehyde in proportion, and the consumption balance is still the oversupply of isobutyraldehyde, and a large amount of isobutyraldehyde is used as a fuel.
2. Isobutyraldehyde is used in the synthesis of cellulose esters, flavors, spices, etc., and is commonly used in baked goods, meat products, and icing.
3. Isobutyraldehyde is used in the manufacture of rubber vulcanization accelerators and antioxidants, isobutyric acid and the like.
